Enhancing the Capabilities of Mobile Backhaul: A User Plane Perspective

Avoiding problems such as packet loss in the transport network is crucial for mobile providers to offer high-quality services reliably and without interruptions. In this paper, we propose compare three different transmission strategies, namely Caching, Network Coding (NC) Repetition enabled User Plane (UP) of backhaul operators prevent performance degradation. proposed NC-enabled method, NC provides robustness failures that no further retransmission required by Equipment (UE) compared conventional approaches where UE applications perform retransmissions. The scheme requires only a minor modification structure UP protocol, which small development effort new extensions current standard features. We also discuss their placement O-RAN protocol stack core network, architecture can utilize caching, repetition features architecture. Our simulation results show an exact 1% ratio link additional total time 59.44% normal GPRS Tunneling Protocol-User (GTP-U) transmission. Applying at rate 2% reduces value 52.99% 56.26%, respectively, better than some previously studied dynamic replication schemes while keeping bandwidth utilization low rates. On cache side, reduction latency about 20% be achieved with size 100 MB. At end summarize benefits limitations using these strategies networks.
